The Internet Safety Program for the Duluth Public Schools focuses on email, social communities and other Web 2.0 applications, and cyberbullying. Our target audience includes staff, parents and community, and students.

Projects Started:

• Safe student email
• Alignment of technology standards (which include safety issues) to ISTE/MEMO (International Society for Technology in Education AND Minnesota Educational Media Organization) standards
• Offering safe alternatives to public blogging and wikis staff can use in the classroom

Proposed Activities:

• Curricular units integrated at the elementary, middle, and high school levels
• Collaboration between the Technology Department and content areas to involve students with getting out the "how to be safe" message
