Creative Classroom Ideas Examples of the nearly 40 grants include innovative learning projects such as a program to allow elementary students to develop weekly news broadcasts using video production equipment. One grant supports a program to encourage students to make cultural connections by researching traditions, music, songs and dance from around the world. Another grant supports a project to allow kindergarteners to experience the hands-on process of egg hatching and learn about life cycles. Other examples include bringing an award-winning author into the classroom, development of a biotechnology curriculum, pairing students with senior citizens to support reading, and entrepreneurship training for special education students.
The Duluth Public Schools Endowment Fund-District 709 represents a community based effort to provide supplemental funding to enrich the academic, cultural, athletic and overall experience of students and staff, and to encourage and reward creativity and innovation in the pursuit of excellence in education in the Duluth Public Schools. We don't suggest you buy these products just to help a school. However, if you're using the products, perhaps you'll consider sending your box tops, labels, milk caps to your local school.
