"Service-learning is a particularly fertile way of involving young people in community service, because it ties helping others to what they are learning in the classroom. In the process it provides a compelling answer to the perennial question: 'Why do I need to learn this stuff?'"     -General Colin Powell, Secretary of State and Founding Chairman of America's Promise

Service-Learning Duluth...

Service-Learning Duluth is an organization within the Duluth Public School System that focuses on the implementation of successful Service-Learning initiatives district-wide.

The group is comprised of a Service-Learning coordinator, three AmeriCorps workers, 27 Service-Learning teacher representatives, a 17 member Service-Learning committee, and a 15-member youth sub-committee known as the Community/Youth Connection.
