Teacher Development Program History The Teacher Development Program began in 1972 and became part of the teacher contract through negotiations. Its purpose was, and continues to be, an effort to involve teachers in determining and meeting their professional needs and to assist the school district in achieving its identified priorities. The program began by offering two courses, Research Utilizing Problem Solving (R.U.P.S.) and Interpersonal Communications. Soon after, a variety of media courses were developed and the program began to expand rapidly. In its history, well over three hundred courses have been developed by teachers and offered for inservice credit. Goals Professional development is a process whereby an individual through self-evaluation develops educational and personal goals to increase his or her effectiveness and participates in learning experiences designed to help achieve these goals. Dates for Meetings This Committee meets once a month, generally on the second Wednesday of the month. We do not have a strict meeting schedule, other than the goal to meet once a month. Please contact Trish Marincel or Greg Jones to get the next meeting date. Registration Process
